We are delighted to report that a number of our volunteers have been recognised in the DCB’s ‘Grassroots Cricket Awards’, which were formerly known as the ‘OSCAs’ until last year.
Bob Rice – Runner-up in the “Unsung Hero” Award

Bob has been involved with TCC for many years & has been treasurer since 2008; a role which requires a considerable amount of hours on a weekly basis. Bob has never stopped there, also consistently scoring 1st & 2nd XI fixtures and helping his wife Janet to insure that the bar is always stocked.
Grounds Team (Paul Jordan, John Hill, Keith Cudby & Charlie Andrews) – Runner-up in the “Volunteer Grounds Management Team of the Year” Award

Anyone who has ever driven past the ground is likely to have seen Paul, John, Keith or Charlie carrying out their duties, which require a considerable commitment of time & physical effort. Between them they have not only maintained the picturesque nature of Station Ground, but also improved playing facilities in terms of the pitch and outfield, including the square renovations that have just been completed.
Imogen Daldorph – Runner-up in the “Game Changer” Award

Imogen has consistently volunteered her time in coaching junior & All-Stars sessions, despite only graduating from junior sessions last year! She has also been an exemplary role model for both male and female cricketers in open-age cricket this year, not only starring for our 2nd XI, but also representing Devon Ladies & winning the National Championship with Devon U18s last month.
Isaac May – Runner-up in the “Rising Star” Award
Isaac has been outstanding in his volunteering at just the age of 14 – regularly scoring 1st XI matches, supporting coaches in setting up & tidying away at junior training nights and also helped to officiate in the Women’s soft ball festival which we hosted earlier this month.
Congratulations to all of our volunteers for their recognition and a massive thank you from all of us at Thorverton Cricket Club for their efforts.
